Tough and rugged but finely crafted and cleverly designed, the Elliot Brown Bloxworth watch was put through its paces by Rob Owen.
Elliot Brown Bloxworth watch
I have been searching for a watch that is tough enough to take sailing, skiing and mountain biking and that can also be worn in the office or at the bar after the racing. And I think I have found one.
This rugged watch, from an award-winning British brand Elliot Brown combines quality engineering with functional design.
I have worn the Bloxworth for the past season and I love it. When I first handled the watch it seemed large, heavy and cumbersome compared with the usual watch I wear, but I was soon taken with the quality and styling. It took me a while to work out how to use the cleverly designed catch which you can set to your wrist size, but once it is properly adjusted, it’s very quick to put on your wrist or to release it.
The Bloxworth has a Swiss made 13-jewel chronograph movement, with a five-year battery life, that’s secured in a shock-absorbing cage inside the marine grade stainless steel case. Each unit is pressure tested to 200 metres.
The crown and push-buttons are knurled for superior grip in harsh conditions. The face is finished with a hardened anti-reflective mineral crystal for clear vision
The Bloxworth is offered in 12 styles and three case finishes including black, sandblasted gunmetal and brushed and polished stainless steel. Options for the interchangeable straps include canvas, solid steel and leather.
Portland Adventurer
Elliot Brown’s new Portland Adventurer collection is to be released to coincide with the start of the 2017-18 Clipper Race and includes a limited edition timepiece called Clipper Race with a UTC hand.
