Women’s knickers non-slip pattern? I don’t see it myself, but who am I to judge?

The photo, right, came with a press release from Dutch company Esthec stating that it was featured on a boat at the Hiswa Boat Show in Ijmuiden and commenting:

‘The design is made up by renowned Dutch architect Piet Boon, who took patterns of women’s underwear as a starting point.’

On querying this, I’m told that Boon was thinking of lace.

“With this material here are no limits regarding the design for a deck,” Marcel van der Spek of Esthec tells me.

The mind boggles.
