UBS Alinghi Swiss Tour final in Valencia starts on Friday
From 11-13 November, the cream of the Swiss match racing sailors will fight for the title of Swiss Match Race Champion 2005 in Beneteau 7.5s at the Alinghi base in Valencia.
The finals of this tour, which has already travelled to Zurich, Thun, Lugano, Romanshorn and Geneva in Switzerland this summer, will unfold in the inner port of the America’s Cup village.
Each of the six crews will be supplemented by an Alinghi crew member, Nils Frei (SUI), Yves Detrey (SUI), Bernard Labro (FRA), Yann Gouniot (FRA) Matt Mitchell (NZL) and Claudio Celon (ITA) are all taking part.
Jochen Schuemann, Alinghi sports director and Alinghi helmsman comments: “It is a great experience for the young sailors to be able to race with these America’s Cup sailors. For them it will be an unforgettable experience.”
