News from the Monaco Yacht Show of swelling numbers in the J Class fleet
This exquisite model is of the latest J Class yacht to start building and is currently on display at the Monaco Yacht Show which finishes tomorrow. The yacht is for a Dutch owner and will be called Seawolf. Designed by Andre Hoek, the aluminium Alustar hull of the new yacht is being fabricated by Freddie Bloemsma in Holland and will be finished by the Classen yard. Hoek has undertaken unusually extensive design studies for Seawolf which is based on one of several designs for Harold Vanderbilt’s original Ranger built in 1937. Hoek is working on four other Js, including Svea and Enterprise. With Gerald Dijkstra’s Endeavour 11 already building at Royal Huisman and others from that design studio still in the pipeline the future for J Class racing is looking phenomenally bright.
