Royal Yacht Squadron line starts abandoned. 10/8/07
Lack of wind is once again playing havoc with the racing here at Skandia Cowes Week.
Insufficient breeze has led to the abandonment of all classes starting from the Royal Yacht Squadron line which includes the Laser SB3 fleet who were racing the last race their series today.
This means that Glenn Bourke and team racingTeam Mustohave won their class with a clear lead overEarls Court Boat Showwith Geoff Carveth at the helm.
However, the race for the overall White Group is yet to be finalised.
The news from the western Solent is that Classes 1 and 2 have just started in a building sea breeze and although the multihulls and the Clipper fleet are still under postponement it looks as though they could be away soon.
Chatting to Nick Haig’s team onSteamy Windowsin Class 2 the sea breeze has filled in and it currently looks fairly consistent.
More news when we have it.
