After a less than perfect start of the Calais Round Britain and Ireland Race which saw Mike Golding and team aboard Ecover having to re-cross the start line the British team is now back on track. In fact they are now leading the fleet by more than 10 miles from Jean Le Cam on Bonduelle.

In a strong westerly wind which is continuing to gust up to 30kts, Golding and team are currently in a solid position skirting along the English coast while Le Cam has taken the southern option.

Bad news for Roland Jourdain (Sill et Veolia), who having led round the first mark yesterday afternoon, encountered problems overnight when his Standard C antenna was ripped off. It is therefore unclear of his exact current position but the chart shows that his possibly heading for the English coast.
