Ellen MacArthur goes in to green mode for a possible Sunday start for her solo challenge
Ellen MacArthur is preparing to set off for her solo, non-stop global challenge record attempt tomorrow aboard her 75ft trimaran B&Q. The latest news from Falmouth shows that MacArthur plans to leave Falmouth for a possible Sunday start.
The current weather models show good conditions for this period but the situation will be constantly reviewed to ensure the weather system is stable.
To break the current record of 72 days, 22 hours, 54 minutes and 22 seconds held by Francis Joyon, MacArthur will have to cross the finish line by 9 February 2005 – if she starts on Sunday.
