East Lothian Yacht Club, Scotland, home to the largest population of puffins and gannets in the UK will also play host to a large population of RS 200 and 400 sailors between 9-13 August 2004.

For the first time in the association’s 10-year history an RS national championship is being held in Scotland following an excellent response from competitors who have previously raced in North Berwick.

Already the number of entries is beyond all expectations including past national RS 200 winners, David Giles, Tom Hewitson and Geoff Carveth who are all raring to go.

In the RS 400 fleet, despite the absence of past national champions, favourites, Nick Craig, Chris Jennings and Craig Burlton will be out in force making the RS Gul nationals one of the biggest and most competitive events to date.

For sailors who are not at the front of the fleet there’s a ‘buddy system’ where sailors new to the class can learn off sailors with experience. Similarly seminars will be organised each day enabling new sailors to fast track themselves up the fleet and round the racecourse.

Clashing with the event is the infamous Edinburgh Festival and trips into the city will be organised.
