Going into the final day of the 470 world championship in Croatia tomorrow RYA Team GBR sailors Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield, who will be representing Great Britain in Athens this summer, have moved up into bronze medal position.

After a postponement waiting for the wind to fill in, racing finally got underway in 14-18 knots of wind and a further three races were sailed in the men’s gold fleet.

A third, ninth and a fifth was enough to see Rogers and Glanfield move up from eighth to third overall, just three points behind second placed Johan Molund and Martin Andersson of Sweden. Going into the final day there is also a new leader with Australians Nathan Wilmot and Malcolm Page sailing a good day to lead the fleet by seven points.

In the women’s fleet the racing is equally as tight and going into the final day there are just two points separating first and third. Therese Torgersson and Vendela Zachrisson of Sweden are just one point in front of Vesna Dekleva and Klara Maucec of Slovenia with Nike Kornecki and Vered Bouskila of Israel third.
