Birthday boys take line honours in the 7th Figaro transatlantic
Armel Cléac’h and Nicolas Troussel sailing Groupe SCE-Le Télégramme crossed the finish line at 22h 49min 3 sec (French time) last night, winning the Transat AG2R on 11 May, which also happens to be the birthday of both men.
Second to finish in the fleet of 31 boats were Pascal Bidegorry and Seidny Gavignet sailing Banque Popularie, finishing just 1hour 30 minutes behind the winners.
After 20 days at sea Sam Davies and co-skipper Jeanne Gregoire finished less than 10 hours behind the leaders, taking fifth position in a highly competitive fleet.
The next event for the Figaro fleet is the first solo event of the season, the Generali Méditérannée, which starts on the 12th June.
