Group 4 Securicor has joined Skandia Team GBR as one of four silver sponsors backing the British sailing team in their quest for gold in Beijing 2008 and on home waters in London 2012.

In pledging their support to Skandia Team GBR, G4S has committed to partnering the most successful Olympic medal winning sport for ‘Team GB’ at the past two Olympic Games in Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004. A trend that with G4S’ and other Team sponsors’ support, Skandia Team GBR are seeking to maintain when the next Olympic regatta sails out of Qingdao, China in 2008.

Stephen Park, Skandia Team GBR Team Manager, is in no doubt as to the benefit this new partnership will have for members of Skandia Team GBR’s Performance, Development and Transitional squads. Commenting at this weekend’s Skandia RYA Sail for Gold Regatta, held at Weymouth and Portland he said: “We are very excited that G4S has agreed to join Skandia Team GBR.
