There are still five places available for the ARC aboard the tall ship Tenacious
If you have between 12-24 days to spare and fancy sailing across the Atlantic on Tenacious the Jubilee Sailing Trust’s 65m tall ship during the forthcoming Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), there are still five places available at a special price of £550.
The rally starts from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on 23 November and finishes, 2,700 miles later, in Rodney Bay in St Lucia.
Tenacious is the largest wood tall ship to have been built in the last 100 years and is specially designed and built to enable physically disabled crewmembers to take an active role in crewing the ship, alongside fellow able-bodied crew. The special facilities on board mean that anyone, regardless of physical ability, can assist in the many duties involved in tall ship sailing. There is a speaking compass for the use of blind crewmembers and bright track radar for partially sighted crew. An induction loop has been installed for hard of hearing crewmembers and wide flat wide decks and powered lifts mean that there is access throughout for wheelchair users. The power assisted hydraulic steering means that those with limited strength can easily take the helm.
The cost of the voyage (£550) includes the voyage, food, accommodation, sailing gear and everything needed onboard, but does not include flights.
