Peter Holmberg joins Team Alinghi as afterguard for 2007 America’s Cup.

Holmberg is one of the world’s greatest sailors having not only won a silver medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in the Finn, two world championships and numerous international sailing events, but on entering the arena, immediately headed to the top of the match racing circuit in 1992. He climbed to No 3 on the world rankings in 1999 and won the Swedish Match Tour in 2001-2002.

His America’s Cup experience includes racing as afterguard of Stars & Stripes in the 2000 Challenger Series where they finished third overall. And more recently was Oracle’s helmsman during the America’s Cup 2003 for the first part of the regatta.
