The Volvo Baltic Race for the SEB Trophy, which was announced two weeks ago, promises some top class racing. This VO60 event, is a two-week sprint version of the VOR, linking three of this summer’s major regattas including Kieler Woche, the Accenture Round Gotland Race and the Swedish Match Cup.

Entries have already been received from Matt Humphries who’ll be sailing Challenge (ex News Corp) with Ross Field and Cameron Appleton. The Swedish Semcon team with the likes of Olympic sailor Johan Barne as part of the crew has also entered, and there’s a possibility that Jesper Bank will be involved with the Atea team.

The event starts on 21 June when the fleet will compete in the Eckenforde Race during Kiel Week before racing to Sandhamn. From here the fleet will race to Stockholm for the start of the Round Gotland Race on 29 June. The final leg is to Marstrand will see the fleet arriving on 5 July during the Swedish Match Cup.
