The wind in Auckland for the second day of the Louis Vuitton Cup quarter finals (Thursday) should improve throughout the day to give similar conditions to yesterday
The weather situation here in Auckland this morning (Thursday) is for similar conditions to yesterday.
There is an area of low pressure 300 miles north-west of the city which is moving slowly east. This means that there won’t be much wind until at least midday. The 8-12kt shifty wind from the south-south-west will slowly build throughout the afternoon reaching 19kts and bringing with it moderate to choppy seas.
The outlook for tomorrow (Friday) is for the wind to shift more to the west which should create a sea breeze and more exciting racing.
