Bright sunshine but a tricky offshore breeze greeted the fleet last Saturday for the the 49er open meeting at Thorpe Bay YC.

Roger Gilbert and James Stewart sailed very well to take the first two races but a wind shift in the third race put them in the tide for a long swim. Paul Towers and Ben Remocker won the third race of the day.

Sunday was a different ball game, the weather was still bright but a very gusty brisk offshore breeze meant sailing was tough. Alex Hopson and Phil Kennard sailed a steady day and local team Mark and Paul Dell won probably the toughest race but it was Towers / Remoker who kept it together to win the last race and the open meeting.
