Hannah Mills insists there is still more to come from her despite leading the 470 women’s ranks with just two fleet races to go at this week’s Weymouth and Portland International Regatta.

The 23-year-old – alongside partner Saskia Clark – has been in dominating form on London 2012 waters, winning their first two races and never looking back. The duo continued their hot streak yesterday as they recorded a second-place finish to sit top of the pile on 24 points, eight ahead of second-place Japan.

With another day of racing to go before Friday’s medal races, Mills admits it is exciting to see just how far the team can go, considering they only formed in February after Clark’s former partner Sarah Ayton retired.

“We are really happy with how we have done this week and to be leading for this long, we couldn’t have asked for much more really,” Mills said. “The confidence is still there for the rest of the week, despite a tricky day of racing on Tuesday, and we will carry that into the medal race.”
