Hayling Island SC provided perfect conditions for this weekend’s RS singlehander open meeting
Over 50 RS600 and RS700 sailors enjoyed the glorious conditions in Hayling Bay for a two-day open meeting this weekend (20-21 April).
Matt Humphreys from Chew Valley Lake SC was the victor in the 600s and Ben Oakley from HISC won the 700s.
Matt, was pushed closely by Ian Marshall of the RAF Sailing Association, winning races one and three to lead after Saturday and by Brian Greensmith from Calshot who, on today, was never worse than second but could not catch the flying Humphreys who nailed the series with a consistent 1,2,1,3,1 finish.
The RS700 class saw a one point win for HISC’s Ben Oakley from Tim Johnson of Chew Valley with another HISC sailor, Neil Upton-Brown just two points back in third place. The switch at HISC to the RS700 class saw six members in the first 12 overall.
