The top five boats in the VOR are likely to cross the finish line of leg 4 at Rio de Janeiro within the next 24 hours over a space of just two hours after 6,700 miles from Auckland. illbruck is still leading but with Amer Sports One snapping at her heels and closing the gap, the finish is likely to be one of the closest yet.
Amer Sports One is taking the easterly approach to Rio while Assa Abloy, Tyco and djuice are approaching from the west. The forecast is for light gradient winds for the last few miles to the finish line which could make things very interesting.
