What’s the most expensive marina in the world?

The question came to mind after we got a letter from a reader having a moan about Ocibar, the company which has the concession for berthing and moorings in Mahon, Minorca.

‘They must have spent millions of Euros on improvements but at the prices they charge it is hardly surprising no one visits any more,’ he says. ‘I was quoted over 600 Euros for a five-night stay on my Contest 48CS.’

However, he adds that after refusing to pay that much, the company sent an email the following day offering a price of €400.

At that price, I hope that it unlimited electricity, water and Chablis.

Even so, I doubt this is the most expensive marina around. Do you know or have you heard of somewhere similarly exorbitant, or more so?
