Having taken a track to the north, Assa Abloy has taken over the lead of the third leg of the VOR as the fleet heads south to New Zealand. They now head the fleet by 37 miles but they are preparing for some tricky, variable conditions ahead. In anticipation of high pressure extending from the north, Djuice as the most southerly yacht has started to dive away further to the south.
Amer Sports One, News Corp, Tyco and illbruck are sticking to their straight route to the east. Amer Sports Too is still in Hobart, assessing repairs and Team SEB has left Eden delivering their yacht to Auckland.
