In contrast to the usual windy, cold Endeavour weather, competitors were greeted with sun and no wind leaving the race officer forced to postpone the racing this morning
The Endeavour Trophy event at Burnham on Crouch is taking place this weekend (October 13-14). This annual champion of champions race is being sailed in one-design RS400s from the Royal Corinthian YC, and a total of 20 champions and their crews are taking part.
In contrast to the usual windy, cold Endeavour weather, competitors were greeted with sun and no wind leaving the race officer forced to postpone the racing this morning (Saturday). However, with the sea breeze showing signs of arriving at 1230, the fleet has launched and are now making their way to the racecourse downriver at the mouth of the River Roach.
With very little wind forecast for the rest of the day, the likelihood of completing a series is looking very slim. However, if the breeze does settle, the lightweight crews will, for once, be given a chance have a crack at winning the coveted Endeavour Trophy.
