After the VOR fleet has passed the waypoint of Ilha Fernando de Noronha to port, at approximately midday, the next waypoint (Trinidade) is potentially a four-day fetch in the 15-knot south-eastly breeze.

However, although Illbruck is still heading the pack with a 21-mile lead over Assa Abloy, the situation could change as the fleet has to make the decision whether to go for the straight line to the next waypoint or bear off towards the Brazilian coast for more speed.
