Skipper of Belgacom, Jean-Luc Nélias, who has proved his worth in several offshore races this year, has had a new 60-foot trimaran built, which will be launched in September
After several successful offshore races including second in the Challenge Mondial Asssistance, third in Cap d’Agde and fourth in Cagliari on their 11-year old trimaran, the Belgacom Sailing Team, skippered by french sailor Jean-Luc Nélias, has proved to be a serious contender in the challenge for the ORMA Multihull World Championship title.
The new open 60-foot trimaran, Belgacom, which will be launched in Zeebrugge (Belgium) just a few days before the Belgian ORMA Grand Prix, will be competing in the Transat Jacques Vabre with Nélias and Vendée Globe winner, Michel Desjoyeaux.
The launch ceremony will be held at 3pm on the 8th of September in Zeebrugge.
