From a punishing Sydney to Hobart, to a mass felling of 420 masts, the Christmas and New Year break has been a breezy affair for many who were racing during this period. For some, like the Velux Five Oceans sailors the worst is yet to come.  

This week we look back at the Sydney to Hobart with the leading navigator Adrienne Cahalan who raced aboard Wild Oats.

Matt Sheahan reports on the long awaited decision on where the America’s Cup will be held in 2013. He also discovers that wild weather has descended upon several other key events around the world, while James Boyd tells us about the start of the Barcelona World Race.
