NATO release an online video highlighting their patrols in the Gulf of Aden
In a move designed to show what is being done to stem the flow of piracy from Somalia, NATO have released an online documentary here showing the work of international patrols in the area.
The 22-minute video shows the Royal Danish Navy warship Absalon off the Horn of Africa. She and her crew have been part of Operation Ocean Shield, a counter-piracy mission set up in August 2009 to increase security in the area.
Right now the Danish warship Esbern Snare is on patrol and they boarded a suspect pirate vessel last week in what is known as the Internationally Recommended Transit Corridor of the Gulf of Aden. This is the regularly patrolled corridor most shipping use to go into and out of the Red Sea.
