See footage from YW's latest boat test - the J/Boat's first lifting keel model the J/95
J/Boats have been building fast cruisers for 32 years, but until now have never built a lifting-keel model.
Designer Rod Johnston didn’t want to deviate from their proven use of deep rudders until a comparable solution was reached – which J think they’ve now found in twin rudders. Thanks to these and a ballasted keel housing a centreboard, reducing draught from 5ft 6″ to 3ft 0″, the J/95 is still a J/Boat, albeit with a lifting keel.
