If you missed the Cup or simply want to re-live the week, here’s how to watch again for free

Aside from the bitter wrangling that characterised the build up to the 33rd America’s Cup, the speed with which the event was over caught everyone by surprise. The five day wait for the first race felt like an eternity, yet compared to previous events this was a minor blip.

When racing did get under way it was over in a flash. The eagerly anticipated match between two of the most extreme multihulls provided some unique and impressive images that will mark another significant turning point in the 159 year old America’s Cup.

But there was another key aspect of this Cup aside from the monster multis and the world’s biggest wing and that was the way in which the event was broadcast to the world.

Free from the shackles of TV rights issues and complicated, expensive  agreements the internet took over and streamed every detail of the event for free. From press conferences and dock out shows to the races themselves, the moving image and spoken world were there for free for anyone, whenever you fancied watching.

The organisation ran live coverage of the racing, while BMW Oracle Racing produced a superb streaming TV service online. If you missed any of these shows or want to watch the highlights, they’re all still available to stream.

Alinghi also provided its own TV/Video service with some great programmes and mini documentaries.

Here are a few links plus my favourite two clips.
