...and a bit. Pete Raymer is clearly a legend
A few weeks ago I wrote about the Laser Masters Worlds. I was struck by the amazing 54 entries in the Great Grand Masters Class, which sounds sort of Masonic, but is actually for competitors aged 65 and over.
I’ve had an email from Alan Pederson to say: ‘The oldest sailor was Pete Raymer from Whitstable YC – aged 80 and quite a bit and a long way from being last.’
Yes, and it looks like Pete Raymer races his Laser regularly at Whitstable and is probably out there each weekend now, doing the autumn series. What a legend.
Does anyone know this stalwart, or have a photo of him on the water?
