A taste of racing aboard this 1961 ketch at Antigua Classics
Here’s a short video that gives a little taste of the racing yesterday at Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta on board Stormvogel.
She’s a 73ft Van de Stadt ketch designed in 1961 for ocean racing and cruising and is beautifully maintained by New Zealand skipper Ian Hulleman – he’s a skilled chap who has done everything from repairing bulkheads himself and hasn’t had a contractor aboard for over two years!
The crew on board were all friends and many of them liveaboard cruisers whom Ian has met this season, all doing a great job on the way to winning their class overall and siezing the Yachting World Trophy for the fasted elapsed time of the regatta.
