Just launched in Auckland is the new Bristolian sporting an all black livery
Here’s Bristolian, the 120ft Philippe Briand designed sloop just launched by Yachting Developments (YD) in Auckland, New Zealand. She’s seen here sporting her new Doyle Stratis sailcloth ‘built’ with a black pigment to match her hull colour. Doyle manufacture and assemble their Stratis sails in Auckland and have recently completed suits for Red Dragon and the Tripp-designed Alithia.
The all carbon, all black boat has some distinctive deck and cockpit coaming design (see current issue of Supersail World out now with the June issue of Yachting World) and has a dramatic interior built by Robinson Interiors and designed by Emma Thomson-Tabone, wife of the yacht’s skipper Peter ‘Gooch’ Tabone.
Bristolian, with her 40-ton lift keel and lightweight construction could be a force to be reckoned with on the superyacht regatta circuit. Once trials are complete she will be heading for Europe and the Mediterranean via the Indian Ocean and Suez canal.
