Steve Fossett’s PlayStation has, subject to ratification, broken the speed record over the Fastnet course.

Playstation left Cowes, Squadron line, at 16.23.53 on Friday 15 March and rounded the Fastnet Rock exactly 18 hours later. She finished in Plymouth at 03.41.07 on Sunday morning with an elapsed time of 35 hours 17 minutes 14 seconds.

The previous record time, set in the Fastnet Race by Loick Peyron in Fujiicolor II in 1999, was 40 hours 27 minutes.
