Roy Heiner’s Swedish team, ASSA ABLOY, have confirmed that the second of their Farr Yacht Design Volvo 60s will be the race boat in the Volvo Ocean Race.

Although the Dutch skipper and Whitbread veteran acknowledges that the two boats are very similar, the second boat is thought to be lighter than the first. Another consideration that the team made was that the second boat was built with the experience of having built the first, and is probably the better boat.
