Assa Abloy has taken pole position in the sixth leg of the VOR which started yesterday from Miami
After the first 10 hours of racing in the sixth leg of the VOR, the fleet is still tightly packed. Assa Abloy has a one-mile lead ahead of Illbruck, with Amer Sports One a further mile astern in third place.
The next three boats, News Corp, SEB and Amer Sports Too, all share fourth place, just three miles behind the leader. Tyco and Djuice are in seventh and eighth positions, just four and six miles respectively off the lead.
The general consensus is that the Gulf Stream Drift will be a significant factor in the first 200 miles of this leg to Baltimore. The trick will be to find this current and endeavour to ride it for as long as it remains favourable to the course.
