With one race to go today (Friday) the battle is on for championship victory at the Osprey nationals
The Ospsrey national championship which is taking place this week at Highcliffe SC at Mudeford has resulted in some extremely close racing. A total of 38 boats are fighting it out in Christchurch Bay with Andy Barker and his crewman Phil Angrave neck and neck with reigning national champions Oscar Chess and Nick Daily Hunt.
Out on race course yesterday (Thursday) Barker led for the entire race with Martin Cooney and John Price snapping at his heels. Barker and Angrave retained their lead to the finish line in ever-decreasing wind but Cooney and Price lost their second place to Chess and Daily Hunt.
So, with another first place for Barker the battle for championship victory against Chess continues today (Friday).
Watch out for overall championship results.
