Jean Luc Van Den Heede is now 15 days ahead of Philippe Monnet’s non-stop round the world record.
Van Den Heede set off from France 60 days ago on his non-stop west-bound route round the world. He is currently speeding along in the Southern Ocean past New Zealand and Australia. In the last 24 hours Adrien has covered 276nm and not surprisingly, Van Den Heede is feeling confident about his progress. “I will not complain,” said Van Den Heede from the boat this morning. “My advance on Philippe does nothing but regularly grow. All is well.”
