Nick Rogers and Jo Glanfield moved one place nearer to a podium position, by scoring a 19th and then their second win of the championship moving them up into seventh place overall at the 470 worlds
After a long postponement waiting for the wind to die down, racing eventually got underway in a blustery 25 knots. RYA team GBR sailors Nick Rogers and Jo Glanfield moved one place nearer to a podium position, by scoring a 19th and then their second win of the championship moving them up into seventh place overall. Team mates Graham Vials and Dan Newman put in a great performance and finished with two results inside the top ten to move them up into 13th position overall.
The girls fleet has been dominated so far by Bekatoru/Tsoulfa of Greece, who, once the discard came into play, have not had a result worse than a fourth place. They continued their dominance over the fleet by scoring two first place finishes yesterday (Saturday). RYA Team GBR sailors, Christina Bassadone and Jenny Heeley sailed consistently in the blustery breeze to move themselves up into 18th position overall. Teammates Libby Greenhalgh and Ali Mcleod had a slightly disappointing first race, but made amends by securing their best results of the regatta so far, an 11th position. Unfortunately for Josie Gibson and Saskia Clark, there regatta has come to an abrupt end due to Saskia’s injuries incurred during the previous day’s racing.
