Despite being stuck in no wind yesterday, Steve Fossett’s 125ft maxi-cat is still planning to cross the finish line later today. News from the boat shows that the expected time of finish is between 1200 – 1800 GMT at Ushant. She’ll then continue her journey to Plymouth – 320 miles on and arrive on shore later tonight.
Last night, having travelled only 25 miles in three hours, Cheyenne Skipper Steve Fossett confirmed that they were still hobbled by the localized micro-depression – with relief not expected before 0300 GMT. Fossett said: “We now have enough information to estimate a finish time. It should be between 12z and 18z Monday. We are moving on course at 9kts. Improvement in windspeed is not expected until 03z.”
