The Thames Valley Bowl Series got off to a boisterous start on 14 March with a southerly breezethat gusted anywhere between Force 2-6 throughout the day at Wraysbury Lake Sailing Club’s Enterprise open meeting.

The course, which made use of the entire lake, with three beats, two reaches and a very fast long run to complete each lap, proved capable of capsizing boats anywhere along its length.

By the time racing was abandoned at the end of the third race six boats persevered.
