The 2006 European Women Match Racing Championship, organised by Club Roggero di Lauria in Mondello-Palermo, Sicily, Italy, in conjunction with Federazione Italiana Vela, came to a close yesterday with Sabrina Gurioli (ITA) winning against Christelle Philippe (FRA).

Gurioli, after defeating in semi-finals Claire Leroy (number one in ISAF rankings), by 2-0, had a non-appeal victory winning against Christelle Philippe (FRA) by 3-0.

In the finals for the third and fourth places there was more competition with very though matches between Leroy and Anne-Claire Le Berre that ended with Leroy claiming the third position by 2-1.
