Finnish sailor, Sari Multala, is leading the closely-fought Europe European championship by just three points
Racing continued at the Europe European Championship in Newport, Belgium, yesterday with two races sailed in fresh conditions, averaging 18 knots of wind speed.
Sari Multala of Finland excelled in the stronger airs, scoring a second and a first place to put her in the lead, with an impressive four firsts out of six races.
RYA Team GBR sailor Debbie Winstanley had the best day out of the British sailors, scoring a 16th and a ninth place to put her in 24th position overall. Fellow team GBR sailor Bryony Percy was showing promise in the first race of the day, in fourth position, but then dropped back to finish in fifteenth, Percy is currently in 26th place.
The next two days of racing will be tight with only ten points making a difference to whether you finish overall in the teens or the twenties, so there is still all to play for.
For the next two days racing takes place in gold and silver fleets, with racing concluding on Thursday when the European Champion will be decided.
