Round three of the Devoti Sailing Warsash Finn Winter Series on Sunday 13 January got off to a foggy start
A foggy start with a building but shifting breeze made for an interesting first race, of round three of the Devoti Sailing Warsash Finn Winter Series on Sunday 13 January.
Local light wind expert Martin Hutchin made the best of the confusion to win from Rowan Chaplin who took little time to get back into stride after the Christmas break by claiming race 2 and race 3.
Rowan won the day with a 2, 1, 1 score line but, after seven races, Howard Sellars in GBR 77 leads the series from Rowan by one point.
Leeward Gates are proving popular with the fleet though some have proved more successful than others a locating the favoured end.
With Ben Ainslie tipped to campaign for Athens 2004 in a Finn there is no better place to get in the early training than the Devoti sailing-sponsored series with the next round on the 27 January. The time of the first start is 1100 and for more details contact Nick Daniels on 07971 164462 or nick@preferred-it.com.
