New Fireball Class Chairman
After three very successful years as the United Kingdom Fireball Class Chairman, Phil Popple has decided to hand over the reigns to new class chairman Keryn Henwood-Fox.
Henwood-Fox has been sailing Fireballs for a number of years and has become a very dedicated Fireballer. Her Fireballing includes instructing at her home club, Thornbury SC, competing in the local Travellers series as well as the last two Fireball worlds. However it’s in at the deep end as the UK Fireball Association prepares for the 2005 Fireball World Championship, which are to be hosted in Teignmouth, UK.
Popple has worked tirelessly as class chairman over the last few years and has played a very pro-active role in helping make the Fireball class the most successful two man trapeze dinghy in the UK. But he will not be disappearing from the scene altogether. For one thing he has a new boat on order and he will be staying on as vice-chairman for the association to give a helping hand.
