Lack of breeze and thick fog caused the postponement of the first day of racing at the Finn Gold Cup. A total of 66 boats have entered the regatta hosted from the Eastern Yacht Club in Marblehead, United States, including eight British boats.

RYA Team GBR sailor Andrew Simpson, who was training partner to Iain Percy last year, will be one that all eyes are on, after successes earlier this year in Palma, where he finished second at the Princess Sophia and second at the Europeans at Lake Garda.
