Hervé Piveteau crossed the Bahia finish line to secure first place in the Series fleet on Leg 2 of the Transat 6,50 Charente-Maritime-Bahia 26/10/07
The first Series class Transat 6,50 to cross the finish line in Bahia, Brazil was Hervé Piveteau sailing 518Jules – imprimerie cartoffset.
Piveteau, who sailed across the line at 0156 this morning took a total of 19 days, 14 hours and 39 minutes to complete the 3,100-mile course. On the previous leg from La Rochelle to Madeira he took sixth in the Series fleet just over three hours behind the leader Stéphane le Diraison onCultisol – institut curie.Le Diraison is yet to finish which means Piveteau should have taken an overall win.
Elsewhere in the fleet British sailor Andrew Wood ondomosofa.comis expected to arrive this evening at 2100, while British team mate David Rawlinson is currently due in at 0100 tomorrow morning.
There’s currently about four hours between Sam Manuard and Isabelle Joschke both expected to arrive late tomorrow night/Sunday morning.
