Franck Cammas’ Groupama the leader of the Transat Québec-Saint Malo 60ft multihull fleet has hit an object – possibly a whale – and broken the port-side rudder. Karine Fauconnier on Sergio Tacchini has regained the lead with Geant (Michel Desjoyeaux) in second place. Cammas and crew are now heading for the calmer waters of St Pierre to replace the broken foil.
