Rod Carr opens Hamble River Sailing Club's new facilities following £145,000 renovation 24/4/07
Rod Carr OBE, Chief Executive RYA has opened Hamble River Sailing Club’s new facilities following £145,000 renovation.
Following a three-month renovation programme, the new changing rooms at Hamble River Sailing Club (HRSC) were officially opened by Rod Carr OBE, Chief Executive RYA on Saturday. The opening of the new facilities were celebrated by more than 100 club members and guests who attended the ribbon cutting and ‘First Flush’ ceremony.
At the event last Friday, Rod Carr commented: “Hamble River Sailing Club has an extremely active dinghy and keelboat racing programme. I am sure this major investment in brand-new changing room facilities will be appreciated by all competitors.”
Hamble River Sailing Club was founded in 1919 and moved to its present Clubhouse in 1949. The Club has a history of regional, national and Olympic successes, and today has an extremely active Cadet sailing programme and is the home of the Garmin Hamble Winter Series, which attracted over 275 entries in 2006.
