With illbruck having taken the lead yesterday, and pulled out a 17-mile advantage over SEB, the 400 remaining miles to Sydney are going to be very interesting. Illbruck is currently sailing at 12 knots in 19 knots of south-easterly breeze but with the unpredictable conditions on the approach to the finish line, there’s still time for more position changes.
Assa Abloy is heading for the Australian coast 69 miles behind the leader but she will have to tack soon to get around the peninsula that obstructs the direct way to Sydney. When she gets south, she will come close to Amer Sports One and djuice who are in fast reaching conditions clear of the peninsula.
Amer Sports Too is currently 400 miles away from King Island at the entrance of Bass Strait.
