Competitors at the IMS worlds in Capri have everything to race for during the last day’s racing today
Alberto Roemmers’ Maxi Yacht “Alexia” arrived at the finish line in first position last night in the Offshore Race – the second part of the Rolex IMS World Championship which is being hosted by the Costa Smeralda YC.
However, on corrected time and after four races, Pasquale Landolfi’s Brava Q8 – member of Yacht Club Costa Smeralda is leading division A, ahead of Vincenzo Onorato’s Breeze and Farr 40 Fram XV, owned by HM King Harald V.
In division B, three Italian boats arrived – in the offshore race – in first, second and third position: Sexy, Capitani Coraggiosi and Jeckerson Seaqua. But the provisional results in division B, after four races, sees the Greek yacht Okyalos XII in the first position, Team Revolution in second place and Don Alvaro in third.
The final day’s racing takes place today (Friday 24 May) with two windward/leeward races, 12 miles each, in front of Capri’s Island. The forecast is for the wind to increase to 15-20 knots which should provide some exciting racing.
