The three practice races that took place in Venice yesterday (14 May) confirmed what everyone predicted – the level of competition of the 2009 iShares Cup is very high.

Gitana Extreme, Groupama and Oman Sail’s Masirah each came ashore with a victory. The final race of the day was particularly close-fought, and spectacular with its central Venice finish line.
